Another Finish!

My version of Red Brolly's Wish quilt is officially a flimsy and is on it's way to my friend Alice in Ontario to be machine quilted.

I made several changes to the original design and if I liked it before, I L-O-V-E it now!  As you can see, Ollie is bored with the whole thing.  Quilt - schmilt.  He told me that if it doesn't involve food then he's not interested.

Alice is also quilting my Comfort & Joy quilt which should be on her frame in the next couple of days.

This year I'll have two quilts to display during the holidays!

Whenever I finish working on a project, I usually go through a winding down period.  The other day when I was going through a cupboard that I seldom use, I came across a bag with socks that I started knitting while I was in treatment earlier this year.  I guess I lost interest when I returned home and had forgotten all about them.

I promised Mr. Painted Quilt that I'd finish them before the really cold weather sets in, so that's what I'm working on now.  If I put my hands and mind to it, I should have the second one finished in the next couple of days.

A perfect winding down project before the start of my next one!

I adore your Wishes quilt and I adore Comfort and Joy! Your house will be so festive and full of warmth when these finished quilts arrive at your door. Your fabric choices for both quilts and your excellent piecing, appliqué, and redwork have made both quilts outstanding. Well done! Now relax with those socks!

Your work is wonderful. Both quilts will look lovely in your home for the holidays. I can't believe Ollie just hanging out and not stomping on or sniffing at your quilt. Great picture of them both. Socks are a great mindless way to wind down and thinking time for what's next on the drawing board.

I love both of your quilts - red is my favorite, but I love the darker, primitive style of the other one. It's good to see that Ollie is watching over you while you work!

Wonderful quilts! Look forward to seeing them displayed in your pretty home! I adore hand knitted or crochet socks! I just have to beg others to make for me as I do not do either. Now I can whip some warm comfy 'boots' out on my sewing machine!;-)

Both your Christmas quilts are lovely.
Makes me wish we had a cold Christmas instead of a hot one so I could make nice holiday quilts to use...
I am sure you will complete MrPs socks in time for winter.

Both your quilts are wonderful!! That is great that you will have two to display this year!

I get like you when I finish a project - try to focus on something new. Knitting has been calling to me strong and hard, but I have to finish what I'm working on first. Sock would be a good place to start though.

Well done on completing two fairly complex quilt tops, a lot of work in both of them, I'm sure the long-arm quilter will do them justice!
I know what you mean about winding down after finishing up a largeish project and what a perfect way to wind down. I made three pairs of socks over the winter months, I just couldn't stop at one LOL!!!! Those socks look to be substantial winter socks too, love the yarn you're using!!!!

How nice to have them both done for Christmas, Kaaren! Mr PQ's toes will be nice and cozy when he's shoveling snow this winter! Is Ozzie going to get a pair of doggy socks, too?
Cheers!

Both quilts are gorgeous! What a nice feeling to have both done before the holidays.

The socks are a nice change between quilting projects. I usually do a completely different type of needlework between my big projects too.

I love how Ollie is laying in his bed and looks so comfy.
